Drop some coins in the jar and help a cat
In memory of my best friend Buster, I am asking customers at all my craft shows to drop a coin into a mason jar. I will match each and every dollar collected and donate it in his name to a local organization dedicated to helping lost or feral cats live long, happy, healthy lives.
Buster's Story
One hot summer evening in 1998 a scrawney brown and white tiger cat appeared outside our hall window in East Hampton looking for food. Several days later, Buster Peters-Wiley became the sixth feline member of our family. For the next thirteen years, Buster gave us unconditional love and became my very best friend greeting me when I came home from work, in the morning at feeding time and several other times each day. In July he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. For three long weeks he fought the tumor retaining his loving personality through chemotheraphy and experimental vitamin C regimen. Finally he told us that it was time to let go and in the evening of July 23, 2010 Buster Peters-Wiley passed away peacefully in my arms. I will miss his smiling face and playful head butts each day for the rest of my life. |
